6 Steps to Reduce Your Laptop's Fan Noise & Increase Speed

When I went to a laptop & phone repair store in Rancho Cucamonga, I was told that certain things can never be avoided. Dust accumulates in desktops and laptops. It is irresistible, no matter how clean your area is. All the dust particles you come across in the air get in through your vents and pile up into a nasty web of dust.

That is why your laptop fan runs fast and loud.

Let’s find a few crucial, and simple steps endorsed by a laptop repair shop in Riverside that can be taken to mutthe fans of your laptop, optimize your speed/performance, and let your laptop lasts for a few more years.

1. Check the Temp

Before starting any diagnostics, you must download a program that monitors your heat levels. An executive occupied with the laptop and phone repair in South Riverside suggests so. As there’s no way to ascertain your heat temperatures unless the laptop’s biomention it.

A useful app that does that is called RealTemp. It monitors the temperature of your processors. It maintains track of these temps in real-time and allows you to view these numbers in your tray. Maintain their record and retain them.

It is also significant to know the system’s hardware and performance. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, followed by a click on “task manager” and then move to “performance tab” to monitor the resources (processor, ram, storage) your laptop is employingIf they touch the top bar, or 100% usage, your laptop requires some diagnosis or hardware/software upgrades.

You may download a handy app called CPU-Z, which will notify you regarding your laptop’s entire hardware. The free app is a small one, yet precise.

2. Defrag

Defragging ia kind of digital “cleanse through” of your total systemPrecisely, clearing away the cobwebs. Often the files you delete, switch around to new folders, and alter their names, leaving little traces of “original versions” behind. These bits of left-behind traces accumulate over time.

If you own 250 GB storage and it’s already 200 GB full, the used spaces are not aligned well in rows and columns. Instead, scattered throughout the hard disk, whicconsumes a longer time to access the file. I defragged, these occupied spaces are aligned, so the system can now quickly access them as they are located at the right place for the system to access.

If you defrag your system once a month, it’ll remove these little traces and give your system’s HDD/RAM a boost.

3. Take Apart the Rig

Crack open your rig. Based on your brand, manufacturer, version it’s ideal to check online for directions on opening up your device. Most people will prefer screwing the back/bottom and removing the protective cover.

Once you’re inside, take a can of compressed air. It’s better to burst a spray or two of air, instead of one long continuous stream of air, as it’s secure on your electronic devices. Now, you can log on to YouTube and check with your laptop’s make and model, and find “how to open ***laptop-model-no***”.

Rigs are different for each modelBut, the dust bunnies and accumulations of gunk, dust, and what-not will generally be the same. Eliminate the pestering dust with a quick spray of your canned air. You may apply a brush too, but cautiously.

4. Clean Inside-out

Many toilets are cleaner than keyboards, according to the owner of a laptop repair store in Pomona. Do you know how much bacteria, grime, and dirt conceals on your fingertips every single day? Now imagine all those dirty dust-mites and dead skin-cells lurked over your keyboard and mouse.

If the laptop base (top & bottom) is out, it is advisable to depart each part and clean it carefully with a brush and coffee filter. Make it resemble a newly purchased one.

5. Add an SSD disk

SSDs are indeed outshining HDDs over the last few years. It has been established thaSSDs are better than HDDs. Most of the laptop can endure an SSD installation if it is not more than a decade old. The connectors on the motherboard should be compatible with connectors of SSD.

The use of SSD would make a huge difference in speed and fan noise.

6. Upgrade OS

If you upgrade your existing operating system to the latest version of Windows 10, then it can work wonders. Right from the start, hibernation, shutdown, opening/closing of files/documents will become faster unexpectedly.

Now, the onus lies on you how you could reduce the noise of your laptop’s fan. You can apply any one or more of the above procedures. During my laptop repair in Redlands, I found that these changes drastically enhanced the performance of my laptop, along with its speed and fan noise. I gave up the idea of purchasing a brand-new laptop, as it would have been pocket-pinching for me
