5 Commonest Problems with Windows and Their Solutions

Once you’ve upgraded to the latest Windows version, you’ll realize that it’s a major development over its predecessors and has a few amazing features. But similar to every other operating system, it isn’t flawless and you may run into problems sometimes. Luckily, very few computer problems are without a solution. There’s always the option of computer repair in Montclair or elsewhere. In this article, we’ve identified 5 of the most common Windows problems and their solutions.

  1. Device Boots Slowly

There are several reasons why Windows might be booting slowly. The two initial things to confirm are whether Windows is up to date and hasn’t been contaminated with malware.

To check for malware, first, click on the start icon. Then go to the main Settings app. Now go to Privacy & Security. Select Windows Security. Applying the Windows Security app, you can enable anti-virus protection and check the total system for threats.

Another likelihood for a slow-booting device could be that your Autorun list has excessive apps in it. For managing your Startup apps go to the start menu and choose Settings. In the Settings app, choose Apps. Scroll down to the bottom of the panel for Startup options. Another option is to disable startup programs, to decelerate your device's boot. The easiest way to perform that is to use CleanMyPC. It lets you manage autorun applications in only a few clicks.

  1. Lack of Sufficient Space to Install a Windows Update

If you want a faster solution to free up tens of gigabytes of space, again try CleanMyPC to uninstall apps and all their files, clear the Windows Registry database, and eliminate temporary files that are still occupying a larger space. It can remove files by default, after scanning your device, or you may review the results of the scan and decide for yourself what to delete.

Another method to handle this issue is to auto-free up space on your hard drive or SSD by yourself. A procedure to do that is to apply the Built-in Disk Cleanup tool instead of seeking a professional laptop repair in South Riverside or other locations.

  1. Windows Uses 4G Data Even When You Don’t Want

Whenever you’re utilizing a personal hot spot to connect to the internet over 4G, the last thing you need is background processes and downloads to consume your bandwidth. Initially, click on the start menu and select Settings. Click on Network & Internet. Choose Wi-Fi. Now, click on your last connection to see its properties. Then switch “Metered connection” to the ON position.

  1. Files Open in the Wrong Application

We usually double-click a file to launch it. However, if the file association in Windows is shattered, as it often is, it won’t open in the app you want it to. You can solve that by clicking on the Start menu and selecting Settings. Click on the System tab and search for the category labeled “default apps.” There, you can decide what app opens each type of file and categorize an app for various file extensions.

  1. Inability to Play DVD Movies

The latest versions of Windows don’t have their built-in DVD player any longer. Possibly because Microsoft assumes that all of us watch online movies. You may pay to download a DVD player from Microsoft. However, a better idea is to download VLC. It’s free and you only need to play your DVDs.

Inference

You can also fix the above-mentioned issues like an expert does during laptop repair in Lake Elsinore or elsewhere. However, there could be other problems as well.
